At Third Church, we believe that Jesus Christ is at work renewing all things, and that we are called together to join him in that work. We are deeply committed as a church to supporting God’s work through the church both here in Richmond and around the world, committing 25% of our annual income to local and global missions. Yet our hope is that our commitment would not just be financial, but transformative.

We hope to be a church that sees where God is at work—in our church, in our parishes, across dividing lines, and around the world—and will have the courage, imagination, and resources to join in God’s work of renewal by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that engaging in God’s work in all places is both an essential means and end of our discipleship as his followers. Join us!

Join a missions team

The primary purpose of our teams is to catalyze our congregation for engagement in missions in the following areas:

  1. Local Budget and Stewardship Team: Contact Elisabeth Hayes

  2. Global Budget and Stewardship Team: Contact Elisabeth Hayes

  3. Church Planting Team: Contact Corey Widmer

  4. Immigrant and Refugee Ministry Team: Contact Alec Kemper

Other ways to serve

  1. Volunteer with one of our mission partners

  2. Help connect your parish area/parish group with mission partners in your area: Contact your Parish Deacons

  3. Host visiting mission partners in your home, or host a gathering where mission partners can share more about their ministry with your Parish or friends: Contact Alec Kemper

  4. Pray with others for our mission partners (monthly at 9:30am on the second Sunday): Contact Rebecca Hatton

  5. Advocate for a particular mission partner as their champion: Contact Alec Kemper

  6. Visit one of our global partners while on a trip abroad: Contact Alec Kemper
